Procedure : 

 

             I.      Aptitude Test:

Ø Consists of  basic Mathematics and English studied in schools.

Ø English may be a bit difficult.(contains  reading, arranging jumbled sentences….etc.)

Ø Different sections under Mathematics. Refer www.freshersworld.org and that may be enough.

Ø GRE coaching helps to score well.

          II.      HR round:

Ø Confidence level, cheerfulness  and spontaneity are checked.

Ø Puzzles are asked which sometimes do not have solutions but  just to know how your approach is towards them. That also shows your creativity and innovation.

Ø Communication( Speaking) Skills are to be improved.

Ø Whatever you speak, be confident in it.

Ø Questions may be asked based on your RESUME.

       III.      No technical round.

 

§  Please attend the session of PRE-PLACEMENT TALK.

§  You may be asked on any of your life experiences.

§  About your social experiences (family and how you maintain your relationships).This is vital to judge your social behavior in work environment.

§  You may be asked on some areas of your life where you had to satisfy two things at a time or two people…i.e.,how did you balance yourself.

§  Do not show fake documents and do not speak about unreal experiences.

§  Be truthful.

§  Elevate yourself and stand out to be different.

§  Please try to participate in as many activities as you can under the ECE and the other Associations.

§  Your approach towards the things …personality…communication skills…. are seen.

§  Sometimes you can be asked on your background and also informal questions that account to your personality.

§  Firstly, try to clear the Aptitude test and it may become easy for the HR round.

§  Soft skills( language skills) are to be improved.

 

WIPRO:

 

 Procedure:

 

1)    Written Test:

Much concentration is needed. Keep working  and solving. Show how you apply. CAT material is helpful.

a)     Verbal: Grammar studied in 8th and 9th standards.(Active/Passive voice, Direct/Indirect speech, Antonyms/Synonyms)

b)    Quantitative: May be little tough. Refer R.S. Agarwal and the previous question papers given by WIPRO. Try to solve the problems from last to the first. This way you will be able to tackle the toughest ones too.

2)    HR round: 

§  Correlate between CSE and ECE

§  Frequently asked question is “Tell about yourself” and “When ECE, why software?”(Give a substantial answer).

§  Doesn’t expect all to be answered. Try to give in an attempt.

3)    Technical Round:

o   Confidence level is checked.

o   Covers C, DBMS, OS, CO, UNIX,…..

o   Less cutoff of 6/7   out of 20 as ECE    background. Once the cutoff is   crossed, don’t worry.

o   Refer TEST YOUR C SKILLS, two or three questions may be asked.

o   The logic of a given C program may be asked. Prepare with the programs in C, especially functions, pointers, files……

o   Any subject (under ECE) of your choice is asked. Try to mention the topic in which you are perfect in. Mostly asked on basics studied in 3rd year 2nd semester. The question “Explain the operation of a temperature sensor using 8086 IC”.

o   It is best to say “I don’t know” with a genuine reason, rather than giving wrong information.

o   Learn the basics of C. Do not waste your time going for courses like JAVA, DOT   NET ,….

o   Be spontaneous as any illogical questions can be asked.

o   Common sense is needed the most. Say whatever you know.

o   Know the basics. You may be asked any topic.

o   Do not lose your eye contact as it shows your commitment.

o   Your body language and conduct is viewed much.

o   Keep smiling.

o   Do not have an inferiority feeling. Do not worry about the academic percentages. You may have 100% chance in getting selected.

o   Work hard in your 3rd year as that would be   your last chance. Put in your effort and score well. Your marks are for yourself. Once you start scoring high you will not fall back.

 

ü Make sure you are well prepared about what you have written in your RESUME as there might be questions asked in regard to certain points in it.

ü Do not copy your RESUME. And the adjectives you mention about yourself play an important role, so be cautious. Project yourself in the right way.

ü Be attentive during the session of PRE- PLACEMENT TALK. Know something about the company. You may be asked to reproduce. Say that you have the qualities that are required by them and you will strengthen them.

ü Try to give some paper presentations and projects. Be prepared with the topics on which you have presented.

ü You know yourself better. So mostly questions will be asked about yourself.

ü Do not show fake documents as your trust builds there.

ü Read the newspapers daily (HINDU, TIMES OF INDIA…), especially editorials in the magazines. Update yourself with the latest happenings around the world. Anything can be asked.

ü During the Group Discussions, be careful as the eliminations would be in bulk. Take your chance but don’t turn it to a debate.

ü The core Companies may ask you the basics of STLD, Communication theory…..

 

 

TCS:

 

Procedure:

 

·        Online test is conducted. It is of GRE pattern. Go through GRE- BARRONS 13th Edition.

                                                             i.      Critical Reasoning (previous question papers are useful as the figures and the questions don’t even change)

                                                           ii.      Verbal

                                                        iii.      Quantitative

 

·        Technical round where a favourite topic of yours may  or may not be asked.

o   C Language is important.

o   Refer C by Yashwanth Kanitkar. Things from it can be asked to be explained. Prepare the examples.

o   Go through www.geekinterview.com and www.freshersworld.com for previous question papers.

o   Not one particular question is asked but can be many different.

o   Prepare EDC, Communication Systems ,…..

·        HR round where you are asked   to tell about yourself. This is to see how best you can impress the HR.

Ø How well you know yourself.

Ø Do not say something that you actually have no idea of.

Ø Unless asked, no need to mention much about the family members  or their occupations or so….You will save the time this way.

Ø Try to mention the positive traits in you. Then you may be asked on your negative aspects.

Ø Do not give any detailed descriptions. Give the interviewer a chance to ask you.

Ø Do not go for your weaknesses .Try to be a little tricky rather give an answer such that it will not give rise to any other question.

Ø Do not add up any negative point of yourself.

 

   Work on your RESUME.

·        Do not repeat the points that are already mentioned in the RESUME. It is more about you and how you tackle the situations in your life.

·        The number of ways you can think, MULTI-PATH THINKING, for a single question.

   Never say “ I don’t know”, but give a try.

   May   be asked how a subject is applied.

 

·        Managerial round:

   Be prepared for any type of unrelated questions. Presence of mind is needed.

   “Why higher studies?” is one the frequently asked questions.

   Facial expressions do speak out.

·        Group Discussions:

# Refer to the previous topics asked.

# You have to speak out whatever relevant you know about a particular topic.

# The way you put up or express your views is seen.

 

v Do attend the PRE-PLACEMENT training session.

v Increase your percentages. Only when above 65% you will be allowed to appear for recruitment by many of   the Companies. Start preparing from now onwards.

v Do not just read. But try to know everything about something rather something about everything.

v Presence of mind, eye contact…

v Be positive and confident.

v Patience, perseverance, cheerful smile, no frustrate mood are expected. Your mental stability from one to another situation when one type of question to another type is asked.

v Go through R.S. Agarwal (verbal and non verbal reasoning)

v Sometimes you are asked nothing hence the convincing skill is needed.

v Refer to the questions papers of the previous interviews.

 

ACCENTURE:

 

Procedure:

 

Ø Aptitude Test: ( Easy)

·         Verbal and Quantitative

Ø Group Discussions round: ( Simple)

·         Do not turn the discussion into a debate.

·         Only the people  who can speak are selected.

·         Some of the topics include hobbies, dress code in profession and society, how the movies propagate violence…..

Ø HR round:

·         “Why is that you should be taken into our company? “

·         “What do you know about our company?”

·         “Are you ready to relocate yourself?”  ( a positive answer is recommended)

·         “Why computers when ECE?”

               These are some of the questions asked most often.

      

   Cheerfulness is seen. Some etiquette is expected ( wishing the HR, thankful gesture when offered with a seat)

   Have an idea regarding CDMA,TDMA,FDMA, protocols,…..

   Summarizing the topic going on in the interview may be asked sometimes.

   Substantiate your percentage. Put in your efforts much by the end of 3rd year.

   Have the clarity of thought, your goal, stay focused, aim it and strive to achieve it.

   Its all that “ You are products; Company is your customer; So how best you can sell yourself with the help of your abilities as technical and communication skills, play the role.”
